Our bulletin board is moderated on a periodic basis. The moderators and administrators are volunteers. The aliases used by moderators of specific forums are noted on the main page of the bulletin board, prior to entering a specific forum.
The administrators, moderators and forum members are not regarded as health professionals.
Because the bulletin board is only moderated periodically, messages posted by users are not reviewed by moderators before they are displayed to the public. We are not responsible for any messages posted. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this bulletin board or any entity associated with this bulletin board. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact a moderator or administrator immediately by email. We have the right and ability to remove messages that we deem objectionable or otherwise violate the guidelines below; we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable period of time, if we determine removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages as quickly as you might desire.
The information provided on this bulletin board is designed to support, not replace, the direct relationship between patients and health professionals.
We remind you that any message can be read, used, reproduced and cited by all. This means that if you use your real name as your User ID or otherwise reveal your true identity within bulletin board postings, your association with ichthyosis may be picked up by various internet search engines (e.g., Google). In this case, persons performing an internet search on your name may find search results that point to this bulletin board and your postings. Users of this bulletin board often post very personal information regarding their life with ichthyosis. If you would be uncomfortable if co-workers, potential clients, neighbors, or others were to find your postings on this bulletin board by performing an internet search on your real name, then you should register on this bulletin board with a User ID other than your real name.
You have the option to edit or delete messages that you have authored at any time.
We at this bulletin board reserve the right to reveal your identify (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you.
The moderators and members should conduct themselves at all times with respect and honesty.
By using our forums, you agree to post information that is true and correct to the best of your knowledge and is of your personal experience. If the information you post is not personal experience, we request you to provide sources (references, links, etc..) whenever it is relevant and possible. Your further agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or the bulletin board. You agree not to post any material which is knowingly false or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.
You are not allowed to post advertisements or solicitations of any kind, whether in the form of message content, text links or banners, as examples. This bulletin board and its hosting are supported entirely by private funding; we accept no advertising of any kind. Accordingly, any messages that represent advertising or solicitations are prohibited.
The moderators reserve the right to delete any messages deemed inappropriate without notifying the author. In cases of abuse, the moderators reserve the right to ban a member of the forum. In both instances, an explanation will be provided if user requests.
You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless this bulletin board, Chris and Laura Phillips, UBB Threads (the makers of this bulletin board software) and their agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s).
