Greetings from Melbourne Australia

Love the website, I found it years ago I keep coming back for useful information on skin creams, tips etc

Iím one of the lucky ones really as my condition is not that severe, in summer time with the use of the Ego QV skin cream recommended to me, my X-linked skin is close to normal and really only have scaling in the colder winter months.

I have seen mentioned the Sea Salt baths and I might give that a try.

I found more information on this Internet website than I was ever given by skin specialists over the years, keep up the good work.

Hello Melbourne
Welcome to our site and happy you found us. We have many people from the land of Oz with ichthyosis. Also we have two posters from Tasmania and ichthyosis people from New Zealand.Do you know about our ichthyosis foundation called FIRST(Foundation for Ichthyosis and Related Skin Types)at www.scalyskin.org.If you would like to network with aussies, contact Jean Pickford or Maureen Tierney at info@scalyskin.org. Many x linkers like myself use the alpha hydroxy creams and lotions such as urea, glycollic, salicyllic, and lactic acids. They help exfoliate our scales and lessens itching.Take care and by for now.
Sincerely,
Les Avakian

Hi there,

I am from Melbourne also...and I have mentioned the sea salt, as have others...

One warning though....Please don't use it in excess...although your skin will probably handle it more than mine....I have EHK which is more senstive I think...

Pauline...would love to know where abouts in Melbourne you live...
