I don't know what lotion to use anymore. The doctors say one thing and the specialists say another. I've tried most of the over the counter lotions. I've read on people's posts that they love Cetaphil but that was too thick and made my skin worse. I don't understand why what works for one person, won't work for the other person. The only thing that has worked for me is Keri which apparently is the worst thing you can put on your skin. BUT, it's light on my skin. The down side is that I have to be in a salt bath for 2 hours to get the lotion and skin off. I'd like to know what you guys use so I may try it.

I'm sorry I'm ranting here, it's just I also have peripheral neuropathy from possibly Soriatane and heart failure from no one knows where.

Thank you in advance for listening.

It sounds like you have a lot on your plate!

We use Cetaphil on the boys, but my husband uses Jergens Ultra Healing. The St. Ives Intensive Healing, Curel and Aveeno are nice, too, better than but more expensive than the Jergens. Unfortunately, even among us with the same type of ichthyosis, there is so much difference in how the skin responds that all you can do is try different things.

Keri and Lubriderm were way too thin for my husband's skin, and the Vaseline cream made his hands look like he hadn't used any cream at all after about 3 hours, plus he was having trouble walking. It was okay for the rest of his body, though.

i thought i would put in my two cents.
i use's amazing, and i don't always use the name brand because the generic seems to work just as well for me.
it keeps me moisturized all day long, thankfully. =]
i have also found nutrogena to work very well too, the fragrance free kind.

i'm sure the one with fragrance would work just as well, but sometimes i like to add some of my perfume to the container so i can have a smell i like. =]

hope this helps a little.

Hi Ally!

I've been known to use Keri quite a few times. It was the only thing that my Mum could find to work when I was a youngun. I still keep a bottle of it around.

For the most part I use Eucerin creams, different types for different days. I also use Aquaphor for knees, elbows and, when I decide to shave, my legs.
