I am having ichthiosis vulgaris. My wife is nine months pregnany, she have a normal skin.. But in this later stage of pregnancy she is developing skin problems and itches ... is this due to baby being affected ... please share your exeriences at the pregnancy time

I would suspect that any skin problems she is having are due to the pregnancy. I am having a girl in a few weeks and we know that she cannot be affected, only a carrier. I always get itchy when I am pregnant. My doctor told me it has to do with the hormones my body is producing.

There's a weird syndrome called PUPPP that affects some women in late pregnancy. It is thought to be caused by the overload of hormones, and the only thing that cures it is childbirth. It isn't related to ichthyosis, though.
